PRENATAL

PREGNANCY/PRENATAL MASSAGE shares many of the goals of regular massage — to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation & mobility & just make you feel good, however, it is tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women & their changing bodies. Pregnancy massage focuses on areas that tend to be problematic for pregnant women like the weight-bearing joints, the neck & back, feet & ankles. It can help to reduce edema, promote relaxation & facilitate preparation for labor by loosening muscles. Massage is a perfect way to reduce stress & promote general well-being during this special time.

Pregnancy Massage: 1-1/2 to 2 hours

All massages are performed with the client covered by a sheet, a technique called “draping” where one part of the body is uncovered, massaged & then covered up before moving on to another part of the body. Draping ensures the client’s privacy, as well as keeps them warm & comfortable. For expectant mothers, bolsters & pillows create a soft, comfortable side-lying position with additional draping for comfort & privacy.
